Laser Tattoo Removal

At DermaEraze we use the Q Switched ND-YAG laser for our tattoo removals. This laser has been proven to be the most effective for dispersing the ink.

Lasers work by breaking down the ink and dispersing it through the body. This is however, easier said than done. Lasers work very well on black ink but have trouble reading colours such as red, green and blues. The ink is then dispersed through the body and expelled through the lymph nodes.

The effectiveness of laser treatment (amount of sessions needed) depends on the amount of ink that is in the tattoo. Cover up tattoos have much more ink in them, as the artist would have needed to use a lot of ink to cover the tattoo underneath and therefore require more treatments.
